Cautions

  • Use it at most once per season.

  • Before applying the pesticide, block the inlet and outlet, adjust the water layer to 3-5 cm, keep the water layer for 5-7 days, and then turn it into normal management.

  • The plot shall be flat, and diseases, injuries and weak seedlings shall be used with caution. The dosage shall be reduced when high temperature above 30℃ occurs continuously during application.

  • Butachlor is not only used for transplanting rice fields and weeding, but also for direct seeding rice fields, water and dry fields. It should be tested first and used only after mastering the method and gaining experience.

  • No wind or rainy day should be selected, and the application of the pesticide after the dew is dry. The effect of butachlor on grass weeds (such as barnyard grass) beyond the two-leaf stage is ineffective.

  • This preparation is harmful to fish, residue and washing water should not be poured into rivers or ponds.

  • For regions, varieties and dosage of drugs that have no experience in use, district tests should be conducted first, and demonstration and promotion should be conducted after experience is gained.

Product Introduction

Butachlor is used pre-emergence for the control of annual grasses and certain broad-leaved weeds in rice, both seeded and transplanted. It shows selectivity in barley, cotton, peanuts, sugar beet, wheat and several brassica crops. Activity is dependent on water availability such as rainfall following treatment, overhead irrigation or applications to standing water as in rice culture.

Mode of action

Selective, systemic herbicide absorbs by the germinating shoots and secondarily by the roots, with translocation throughout the plants, giving higher concentration in vegetative parts than in reproductive parts.
